Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the press treatment of the water scarcity crisis in Iraqi daily newspapers, in order to give a clear picture of the nature and method of that treatment in presenting the water scarcity crisis, and the results of this crisis, developments, junctures and their effects upon other areas whether political, economic, social and environmental.

This study presents the nature of the treatment of Iraqi daily newspapers with respect to water crisis.

The researchers select two daily newspapers of different trends, namely (Al Sabah and Al Zaman) newspapers.

These two newspapers are subjected to descriptive research in order to extract certain scientific and practical results.

A survey study is adopted since it is appropriate to reach scientific and practical results that meet the requirements and objectives of this study, besides, its flexibility in obtaining the necessary data and information within the framework of the research.

The researchers adopt the content analysis of the journalistic material where the content of the two newspaper under study is studied analyzed in order to understand how the press treatment of the Iraqi water scarcity crisis is dealt with, and to know the general framework the media presents to deal with such crises.
