This research is about the significance of the symbol in Mehmoud Darwish poetry specially woman and all the different meanings and inspirations that this word « woman » carries.

To explain this symbolic significance of the woman, we try to stop a little bit at what the word « woman » means in some Arabic dictionaries then in the Arabic poetry to finally reach its symbolism in Mahmud Derwish poetry trying to show its different meanings by mentioning some of his poems.
