Linguistic bilingualism is one of the sociolinguistic phenomena which have been the subject of diverging opinions and analyzes which have been addressed in the study.

Plentiful research in sociolinguistics has attempted to grasp this phenomenon and to identify its different facets by treating the different aspects of research and study, starting with the concept of bilingualism that most researchers and specialists in this question agreed that it means having two different languages and using them the same in the same way.

Through this research paper, we aim to follow the most important opinions that have addressed the concept of bilingualism, as well as the types of linguistic bilingualism and the most important reasons that led to its existence.

From this point of view, the research problematic has been constituted, namely: What is linguistic bilingualism? What are the most important types? What are the factors and causes that led to its emergence?
