Expansion areas and tourist sites are considered to be among the protected areas and those of national benefit.

The legislator has, in fact, put under the Law No.

03-03 regarding expansion sites and tourist areas- responsibility on the state and regional groups to protect and value these areas, by setting special procedures for obtaining a building permit in it, as well as fighting the illegal occupation of land and buildings which are illegally licensed.
