The Study Title: The role of new media means in spreading the rumors among the university youth (A Field study).

The Problem of the Study: The problem of the study is about the ease of spreading the rumors among the students of the university whom are using the new media means and the risks and negative accidents as a consequence of that.

The Population and the Sample: The Population of the study are the students in media department - college of Arts at Tikrit university.

and the sample are (100) item.

The Procedures of the Study: The researcher uses the descriptive analytical method through a survey by constructed a questionnaire as a tool for date collection.

The Most Important Results: 1- Most of the sample of the study cannot distinguish between the true and false news.2- A high rate from the sample of the study have the awareness to stop spreading the un right news before check it.3- There are a good rate of the sample that work on spreading news and information and videos without checking its sources.
