The research aims at identifying the phenomenon of colors and its function in the poems of Mahyar Al-Daylami.

Colors in poetry have aesthetic and technical values that enrich the poem.

Poetry is an image painted by words, and these images forward our attention to colors.

Thus, colors are important in the formation of poetry, and provide a precise translation of the emotions and psychology of the poet.

The function of colors in poetry is an integral part of the poet's creativity.

Poets possess an excellent ability of translating life into images that reflect the reality in which they live.

In fact, they reflect their environment, and always attempt by using colors to use vocabularies to make a semantic contribution in forming the poetic images.

The white and black colors are among the most dominant colors mentioned in the poems of Mahyar Al-Daylami, with the use of some signs to refer to these colors.

However, other colors, such as green, blue and yellow also have been used for to contribute in the poetic images.

Colors are a nice phenomenon in nature, and by which literary images can be formed.

They indicate a social, technical and symbolic significance.

Moreover, they are directly linked to all sciences.

Mentioning colors in the concerned poems are not arbitrary, as they represent a base upon which the poet relies.

If we investigate all the colors instances in Al-Daylami's poems, we would find that it is a dominant phenomenon in his poems.

It is a universal phenomenon that involves all colors.

We cannot imagine trees, gardens, rivers, or mountains without colors.

Exactly like looking at an image without colors.

How can the poet with his special emotions and technical abilities use the images to move us like a professional painter? Thus, he is required to link his poems to the colors of nature; colors are nothing but a reflection of the poet's creativity, to be a source of emotions that enriches the sensation and aesthetic features to the formation of his poems.
