The environmental impact study is considered to be an instrument that contributes to the achievement of sustainable development objectives.
However, over the years, many criticisms have been made indicating the presence of certain gaps in the current use of the method.
Aware of the shortcomings, and to fill the gaps, Morocco is opting for a tightening of the current legislation by aiming at the adoption of the method of environmental assessment.
The latter is described as a preventive tool that can ensure a balance between investment, environmental protection, and consideration of sustainability.
This article intends to study the bill relating to environmental assessment, noting its added value in terms of protection of the Moroccan coast.

L’étude d’impact sur l’environnement est considérée comme un instrument qui permet de contribuer à l’atteinte des objectifs de développement durable.
Cependant, au fil des années, de nombreuses critiques ont été formulées signalant la présence de certaines lacunes dans l’usage actuel de la méthode.
Conscient des déficiences, et en vue de combler les insuffisances, le Maroc opte pour un durcissement de la législation en cours en visant l’adoption de la méthode de l’évaluation environnementale.
Cette dernière est décrite comme un outil préventif qui peut assurer un équilibre entre l’investissement, la protection de l’environnement et la prise en considération de la durabilité.
Cet article se propose d’étudier la nouvelle loi se rapportant à l’évaluation environnementale, en relevant sa valeur ajoutée en matière de protection du littoral marocain
