عرفت و نظرية الأجناس الأدبية و تداخلها مشاكل في وضع الحدود الفاصلة بين أنواعها المتداخلة كما شهدت امتدادات و تطورات تاريخية على مستوى التصور النظري و الممارسة التطبيقية منذ العصور الأدبية القديمة حتى العصر الحديث.
و عند المقاربة النظرية للجنس الأدبي)المقولات و التعريفات) وصولا إلى الممارسة التطبيقية نجد الجنس يشكل مبدأ تنظـيميا و معيارا تصنيفيا للنـصوص و مؤسسة حدد مقوماته و مرتكزاته.

فأي إرتياد نقدي لعمل إبداعي ما لا يكون ناجحا و محققا لدرجة عالية من المقروئية إلا بالتأكيد على أهمية تحديد الخلـفية الأجناسية له.
فالأثـر الأدبي أو النص الإبداعي في تقلباته في ثورة دائـمة عـلى الجنـس وعليه يجب تحطيم فكرة نقاء الجنس مما يفتح المجال-للممارسة النقدية أوالإبداعية- أمام هيمنة سلطة النص على سلطة النوع الأجناسي
