The authority in the science of constitutional law is considered one of the most important pillars of the state, based on the powers and responsibilities assigned to it, and it is recognized that the modern state performs its functions, through three powers, legislative, executive and judicial one.

And so that the researcher to evaluate the timeline of a State, it must keep track of all stages and cover all aspects, especially the performance of its political system, based on the performance of the three powers.

In the Algerian case, the legislator worked in all successive constitutions to define and show the positions of each authority and its relationship with other authorities, and this article came to reveal the position of the executive in the Algerian political system, in light of all the constitutions that were defined in post-independence Algeria, starting in 1962, by asking whether the executive authority has a major or marginal place in the Algerian political system in the pre-pluralism period and after.
