All of this radical difference necessarily lead to a difference between the status of prisoners women and men, which requires the establishment of distinct treatment and providing women with additional safeguards because their equality with men in this case may in itself constitute discrimination against them, the matter that prompted UN and the majority of the world to seek to establish rules that contribute to the humanization of the punishment of disadvantaged women of freedom so as not to be deprived of her humanity, through examining forms of discrimination against women in criminal systems, particularly in Algeria and their impact on the women prisoners status women, the adopted international standards for the elimination of these forms, the guarantees to treatment of imprisoned women in normal situations and in the most fragile positions and the extent of the application in Algeria.
