Abstract EN

The purpose of this research is to study the objective and aesthetic features of political rhetoric in the Umayyad era.

These aesthetic features were reflected in the Betra sermon of Ziad Ben Abih.

one of the most prominent political speeches of the Umayyad era.

This research began with an introduction, followed by research into the concept of sermon, language and language, and the search for the elements of sermon.

The researcher then began to study the aesthetic features of Petra’s sermons, in terms of ingenious features.

The search for the aesthetics of technical methods is represented by (question, exhortation, order, appeal, condition, emphasis) and the search for the aesthetic of the artistic image, represented by the analogue, the metaphor, the canonical image in the sermon, and the impact on the recipients.

The study concluded with an overview of the main findings of this research, including the fact that it revealed the most important content and principles of the sermon in establishing the foundations of government for some of Iraq’s Umayyad rulers, as well as its importance in being a constitution in politics and governance.

This research highlighted the aesthetic features of political rhetoric in the Umayyad era, represented by Petra's sermons, which were characterized by ingenious stylistic, linguistic and rhetorical characteristics as models of political rhetoric in the Umayyad era.
