Citizenship is one of the basic principles in political and democratic systems as a basic acquired right for the individual to live within a specific geographical area and within a social group, and it has been acquired through the development of this traditional concept and its transformation into a fixed right in political and social life.

It is the pillar on which the relationship between states and their subjects is based, and the more the concept of the modern state is rooted in the rule of law and full political participation resulting in full citizenship, the subjects feel belonging to and belonging to a specific state, an affiliation that gives them rights and imposes duties on them.

Whenever they have a strong sense of belonging and loyalty, preserving their systems and laws, and the desire to protect and defend them, and what is related to Iraqi women, the right to citizenship is entrenched with their rights and duties embodied under the constitution of the Republic of Iraq for the year 2005 in force, whose texts arranged real effects that reflected on citizenship, whether these were these Rights are related to nationality, political participation, or economic, social and cultural rights.
