The research aim to find the relationship between social media addiction and emotional disorders of university students, as it targeted intended sample of media users through analytical descriptive research and through the application of tool to measure the phenomenon represented by : an electronic questionnaire related to communication networks to collect data in some demographical variables (gender and age) The researcher questionnaire that included (25) paragraphs, and the scale was applied to a sample of 60 students from the College of Basic Education, where the value of the scale was measured using the Alpha Krombach coefficient for the total score on the scale (0.856) and the stability was calculated by half-segmentation and after correction was 0.81, which is significant at a significance level of 0.01.
After collecting, analyzing and interpreting data, the results showed: that students of the College of Basic Education have addiction to social networks, and (males) are more addictive than (females) There were no statistically significant differences according to the variable (age) in addiction to social networks and in emotional disorders, and it showed a positive correlation between addiction to social networks and emotional disorders.
The researcher recommended: 1- The need to spread psychological awareness of the dangers of social networks.
2- Activating the role of counseling units and psychological clinics in universities.
3- Preparing counseling and treatment programs to alleviate the psychological suffering of addicts of social networks.
4- Conducting more research on addiction in universities and in wider samples.
