The current research aims to identify the effect of the self-instruction method on developing independence among students of preparatory stage (Al-Zahra Preparatory for Girls) in the Hilla Education Directorate The research has dealt with a theoretical framework that includes all research variables Achieving research objectives by building a measure of independence With the help of a certain statistical analysis The number of (200) students and after the investigation of From its validity and consistency, the number of paragraphs of this scale reached 30 items.

To test the research hypotheses, the researcher chose A sample of( 30) students were chosen randomly Whoever gets below the scores on the independence scale, if they are divided into two groups Experimental and controlling, by (15) female students for each group after the solidarity was achieved The two groups also construct the counseling program according to the problems presented in the scale according to the method of self-instruction of the scientist Herbert Miknbaum.

And when one of the counseling program sessions was taken, and after completing the implementation of the counseling program in the manner of collective guidance on the same sample, the results showed that the program was effective in developing the independence of the preparatory stage students.

Shows that program is effective in psychologic and social rehabilitation.
