The present research aims to identify (the impact of the strategy of defending the views in the collection of history material among fifth grade literary students) To achieve the research objective, the researcher formulated the following zero hypothesis: There were no statistically significant differences at (0.05) between the average score of the students of the experimental group studying the history of Europe and modern and contemporary America with the defense strategy of the viewpoints and the average score of the students of the control group who study the same subject according to the usual method in the achievement test.

The current search was limited to: 1 - Students of the fifth grade literary in the preparatory and secondary schools day of the Directorate General of Education in the province of Diyala.

2- The second semester of the academic year 2017-2018 3 - the last three chapters of the book (History of Europe and America modern and contemporary) to be taught by the Ministry of Education.

The researcher followed the experimental design of the partial control of the experimental and control groups, the teaching of the experimental group depends on the strategy of defending the views and the control group in the usual way.

The research community consisted of fifth grade students in the preparatory and secondary secondary schools of the Directorate General of Education in Diyala Governorate, the selection of the prep school of innocence and the message of Islam for girls sample from the district of Muqdadiya and the random drawing method.

The researcher studied the two research groups himself during the period of the experiment, which lasted (11) week Topics of the history of Europe and America modern and contemporary, and prepared the researcher a retrospective collection test consists of (30) paragraph of the type of multiple choice where covered the content and behavioral goals of the material after it was It was presented to a group of experts and the characteristics of the cykometric and the coefficient of difficulty and discrimination were emphasized.

The appropriate statistical means were used for the study of T-test and Ka-square (Ka 2), the coefficient of difficulty and discrimination, And stability coefficient).

The results showed the superiority of the experimental group that studied the history of Europe and modern and contemporary America with the strategy of defending the views of the control group, which studied the same article in the usual way in the post-achievement test.

- The strategy of defense of views has worked to be students are always attentive as they focus in order to reach the negative defense of the various views.

- The defense strategy of views needs a teacher who has the ability to analyze and interpret historical events.
