The research aimed to identify the effect of using multimedia on achievement and learning motivation among third middle class students in biology subject.
The research sample consisted of (79) students from the first semester of the academic year (2019-2020) from Al-Tahrir Secondary School for Boys in Dohuk, where they were chosen intentionally, and they were divided into two groups: an experimental by (40) students studied using multimedia, and a control sample of (39) students studied using the usual method, and the two groups were corresponded with the degree of science and the general average (for the second course for the second middle class) and age in months, and the study plans prepared by the researcher were previously approved for both groups.
To achieve the aim of the research and test its hypotheses, two tools were used for the research: The first: an Achievement test in the first four chapters of the biology book for the third middle class of multiple choice type and was in its final form consisting of (25) items with (3) alternatives, and the second tool: the scale of learning motivation.
Which showed at the end of the research the following result: There is a statistically significant difference between the averages scores of students of the experimental group that were studied using multimedia and the averages of the score of students of the control group that were studied using the usual method at the level of significance (0.01) and in the two tests: achievement of the biology subject and the scale of learning motivation and in favor of the experimental group and the size of a large impact.
Based on the results of the research, the researcher came up with a set of conclusions, recommendations and proposals.
