This study aimed to identify The impact of the summary strategy in developing reading comprehension skills among preparatory stage students in Iraq.
To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher followed the experimental method, the sample study included (85) students from the fifth grade students.
The number of males (42) students, divided into two groups, the experimental group includes (22) students, Division (A), and the officer group consist of (20) students, Division (c).
and the number of females (43) students divided into two groups, experimental group includes (21), Division (B), and (22) students for officer group, were randomly selected from the Imam Ali Boys School and Maria Coptic School for Girls belonging to Anbar Education Directorate for the academic year 2019/2018.
To answer the hypothesis of the study, the researcher prepared a test in the skills of reading comprehension of the type of multi-choice question of (20) paragraph.
The test was applied to the study sample after verifying its validity and stability.
The researcher used arithmetical averages and standard deviations and applied (one-way ANOVA) and (two-way ANOVA) analysis.
The study showed the following results: There were statistically significant differences in the summary strategy in reading comprehension skills among fifth graders and for the experimental group.
And there are differences of statistical significance in the strategy of the summary attributed to gender and for the benefit of females.
