The issue of renewal is one of the most important and prominent of contemporary intellectual issues, and there was lot of talk about it, among the praise and supporter for it or blocker and criticizer, the renewing in the religion is not an easy matter, and it cannot be tampered with, because there are religious issues that cannot be manipulated such as constants, like prayer Fasting and other things, the Islamic religion is a comprehensive, universal, and valid religion for every time and place, it is in line with the most prominent contemporary facts and developments, and is not static as some claim, such as the modernists who describe Islam by stagnation, and for this they call for the renewal of the religion without observing the constants, unlike ancient scholars and the contemporary who recognize the necessity of renewal, but not in the constants.

The renewal is in the variables and assumptions with controls and conditions of renewal, for this reason the researcher decided to write a paper on the issue of renewal between ancient scholars and contemporary modernists, as a comparative study, to reach a set of results from the research.
