English Abstract

The aim of the study is to know the level of Personal beliefs in the prevention of Covid 19 among the elderly residents of Baghdad for the year 2020، And the significance of the differences in it is defined according to their age and gender variables.

By adopting the descriptive approach A questionnaire was prepared as a research tool, consisting of (29) items.

And after making sure of its sincerity and stability، It was applied to a sample of (400) elderly individuals of both sexes, who had never been infected with the Corona virus، The results showed that the level of Personal beliefs in preventing Covid 19 is very high.

Their priority is: spiritual / religious beliefs, followed by Psychological beliefs, then social beliefs، They did not show statistically significant differences according to age and sex.

Among the conclusions of the research: "The psychological infection, represented by panic and fear of the Corona epidemic, is available and at high rates among the elderly in our society, similar to the elderly in other societies".

As for the most important recommendations, they are "urging university students, through workshops, lectures, or seminars to adopt psychological methods to calm and reassure the elderly in their families about the risks of infection from the Corona virus".

The research also included proposals for other subsequent studies.
