The Byzantine Empire witnessed a great prosperity during the Macedonian Dynasty and during the reign of Emperor John Zemskis (359-366AH / 969-976AD), who was the guardian of Basil II and Constantine VIII, who launched his military campaigns against Muslims, exploiting the weakness and internal rupture and the separation of many regions from the Abbasid caliphate that was under Boihi authoritarianism, John Zemskis worked to collect all state resources and spent them on the military establishment, and he was aiming from behind this policy to seize Islamic lands, as the Byzantine Empire considered these lands as property of the Roman Empire, and what prompted the emperor to direct campaigns against Muslims in that period is the state of weakness and division that arose between the Byzantine rulers and rulers of the Muslims which led to wars, leaving the frontiers and Jihad for the sake of Allah Almighty.
