Abstract EN

The expressive language of the Holy Qur'an is a field of linguistic miracle.

This study handles forming the image of meaning and examining an aspect of using "may" (la'alah) in the Holy Qur'an.

The Qur'an verses diversify in the correlation context like: predominantly with the present verbs, pronouns, and rarely with names as shown in the attachment.

"May" (la'alah) occupies an extensive extent of (130) positions.

Due to the multiplicity of the evidences, the following correlations are selected as a field of study and analysis: ( you may prevent, they may remember, he may remember, they may be guided, they may think, they may understand, you may logically recognize, you may think, you may obtain mercy, you may obtain mercy, they may seek for Allah's mercy, I may come to you, the Hour may come, you may follow them, they may return, they may finish, I may return, it may be disordered, you may satisfy, he may purify, you may leave, they may return to Him, and we may follow).

The study is based on the reason behind this diversity in the correlation of verbs, pronouns and names occur with the expression "may ".
