Abstract EN

This study deals with the Ottoman-Venetian relations that originated in the second half of the fourteenth century, when the two sides signed a trade treaty in 1368, but these relations did not continue in this way.

On the one hand, Venice had many commercial colonies and controlled the main trade routes between Europe.

These interests were on the path of Ottoman military expansion, which brought the two sides into conflict throughout the 15th century.

This began with the naval battle that broke out between the two sides in 1416, followed by the intervention of the Venetians to save Constantinople from the Ottoman expansion, and then enter the parties with two wars.

During the second half of the 15th century, however, Venice failed to resist the then growing Ottoman expansion
