The research included four chapters, the first chapter contains the introduction and the importance of the research and the researcher talked about the importance of contemplative thinking in the field of sports, especially handball game, as well as focusing on questions about the effectiveness of handball.

The importance of the research is recognition of contemplative thinking scale and its reflection on defensive and attacking skills and connecting the previous skills with the current skills of the students of the third stage in the faculties of physical education and sports sciences in the southern region.

The problem of the research is that there are deficiencies in most scientific subjects that need to connect the mental processes and the basic skills of Handball game.

The goal of the research is to build and standardize the contemplative thinking measurement of the students.

The fields of the research included the human field represented by the students of the third stage of the faculties of physical education and sports sciences in the southern region.

The time of the period started from (16/12/2018) to (3/1/ 2019) while the spatial area was the sports hall in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / University of Misan and the available places in facilities in Basra, Dhi Qar, Wasit and Muthanna.

The researchers used the descriptive method in the survey method.

The research sample consisted of (172) students.

The two researchers prepared the procedures for building the contemplative thinking measurement and applying it to the sample of statistical analysis and deriving the standards and levels.

The (SPSS) system was used to obtain the results of the research.

The researcher recommends that teachers pay attention to the mental aspect (contemplative thinking) as one of the basic requirements that affects the performance of sports.
