Abstract EN
The importance of water as a natural substance and a major resource that plays a prominent role is extremely sensitive and dangerous, and imprints its fingerprints in various aspects of life on the face of the globe, as it is the main factor on which human life is based, and all his economic, political and social activities in the fields of agriculture, industry and services.
Human civilizations.
Turkey participates in feeding the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates at high rates, so it represents the most prominent riparian country with Iraq, and its water policy not only affects the share of other countries in terms of quantity and quality of water, but rather extends its influence in determining the water policy and directing it to the rest of the other countries.
From this standpoint, the future carries with it signs of serious crises affecting the Iraqi issue as one of the riparian countries with Turkey, perhaps the most important of which is related to the water crisis after the Turkish side constructed many irrigation projects and dams on the Tigris and Euphrates to achieve its interests and create development projects in the southeast Anatolia region ( Cape) and the use of water as a means of political pressure with the neighboring riparian countries with it, in violation of the international rules and laws that regulate the rights of states and their water quotas.
The research concluded that Turkey violated the principle of non-harm to others by continuing to build dams and reservoirs on the Tigris and Euphrates rivers without taking into account the rights of the riparian states.
The search for serious work on solving the outstanding political and security problems with neighboring countries by concluding agreements and establishing good neighborly relations and mutual economic relations and common interests with the countries of the Tigris and Euphrates basin, especially Turkey, and this is done through the sale of oil and natural gas to Turkey at reduced and preferential prices, and facilities should be granted for Turkish investments.
And giving them priority in investing in the oil industry and investing in agriculture as well.
