Abstract EN

Foreign direct investment is one of the most important aspects of commercial activity in the contemporary time, as it plays a major role in the process of economic and social development in all countries, especially developing countries, because it is the main artery of capital flow and scientific and technical expertise, that is, it is related to the movement of capital circulation and exploitation internally And externally.

Foreign direct investment also contributes to accelerating the improvement of the investment activity climate and the export-oriented investment climate by removing administrative restrictions, facilitating procedures, lifting restrictions on existing policies that hinder export growth, the most important of which are restructuring of customs procedures, standardization of fees, and facilitating access to investment financing for export activities by expanding capital markets.

On the basis of that, this study came with the aim of knowing the effect of foreign direct investment on the environment of the United Arab Emirates and what contributes to achieving economic development, and the relationship between this type of investments and exports in the United Arab Emirates during a specific time period.

The research problem was embodied in the fact that the United Arab Emirates suffers from obstacles and problems in attracting foreign direct investment to develop its exports, and through it was formulated the hypothesis that exports in the UAE are greatly affected by the flow of foreign direct investment to them, and the study covered the period (1990-2017), The study also adopted the descriptive approach to study the theoretical side, relying in this on the methods of economic analysis.

As for the applied side, the statistical quantitative approach was used to detect the causal relationship.

The study reached a number of conclusions, and the researcher presented some treatments that she deems necessary address this problem.
