Abstract EN

This study dealt with an analysis of the general structure of the Iraqi economy for the period (2003-2017) and an indication of the percentage of economic sectors' contribution to generating GDP.

This study showed an increase in the contribution of the oil sector to GDP, with a decrease in the contribution of other sectors, and this reflects the uniqueness of the Iraqi economy and a decrease in economic diversification on Although Iraq possesses the human, natural and water resources that enable it to be one of the most diversified countries economically, the circumstances and problems it was subjected to prevented its development, and this made the Iraqi economy suffer from many structural imbalances that clearly reflected on the economic performance of the country.
