This research aimed to analysis the relationship between the budget deficit and the public debt in Iraq for the period 2003-2016 using the analytical method of statistics and data.
The quantitative methodology was used to measure the impact of the budget deficit in the public debt.
In financing this deficit budget, which means additional financial burdens on the public budget, because of the burden of debt service, also recommended the need to adopt an economic strategy to manage public debt in a way that avoids the Iraqi economy any financial and economic crises.
