Abstract EN

Metaphor remains one of the important rhetorical arts, and one of the most important rhetorical devices.

Like other rhetorical arts, metaphor has a supreme ability of forming a new image that differs from the original (real) one.

This image is usually formed through interrelated metaphorical relationships with the participation of spirit and sensation together, and by this it helps to open new aspects.

Metaphor occupies a considerable space in the thought and language of Ibn Al-Jawzi, who employed it in his procedures in the area of Holy Qur'an, Hadith and some other areas.

It should not be forgotten that Ibn Al-Jawzi, the preacher and sheik of Iraq, was interested in many disciplines and arts including metaphor which is no less valuable than its counterparts such as representation and metaphor and other metaphorical species.

Metaphor stands out in splendor when it is used in suitable place.
