The economic situation in Yathrib was multifaceted.

It is located in a fertile area of low salinity.

The valleys flow through it, feeding enough water to this area for good cultivation.

In addition to the wells and eyes that abounded in its area and which residents dug to use its water for drinking and watering.

Therefore, its people worked in agriculture.

Fertility of the soil kept them from hitting the ground in order to make a living overall.

There are many Quranic verses that refer to the aspect of palm trees, grapes, and other crops, including grains and legumesThis might prove that the people of the city were in abundance of varied agricultural work.

These crops provided most of the population's nutritional need.

Likewise, the people of the desert suffer from what they need from food, especially dates.

The verses have mentioned by palm trees.

"And within the land are neighboring plots and gardens of grapevines and crops and palm trees, [growing] several from a root or otherwise, watered with one water; but We make some of them exceed others in [quality of] fruit.

Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason".

Which suggests that it was filling much of the nutritional needs of the population.

He also mentioned many Madani verses that contain some orders, prohibitions, and legislations related to trade and business.

Which could inspire that the city had a weak trade movement.

A civil society, such as a Yathrib society, in which industry must exist to meet the needs of the population, with the industries they need, which are the necessities of agricultural life and the daily uses of the population.

The luxuries they possess, the dissolution and the weapon they need are necessary to defend themselves and their property.

It is inconceivable that they will bring everything they need from these many diverse tools and needs, made from the outside
