Abstract EN

The paper aims at measuring the level of thinking of suicide among preparatory school students.

A sample of students were randomly selected from the population of the study which consistedof 400 students in the schools of Ba'aquba which belong to the General Directorate of Diyala.

The researchers constructed a scale of measuring thinking of suicide according to the theory of Beck (2000).

The scale consisted of 53 items distributed over three domains.

The scale validity was measured by more than one method.

The scale reliability was measured by two methods: test-retest and Alpha Cronbach.

The reliability rates were 0.79 and 0.92 respectively.

The researchers applied the test in its final version tothe study sample which consisted of 210 students.

The results of the study showed that the sample subjects have a significant high level of thinking of committing suicide.
