The present research aims to identify the unrealistic optimism and the level of Cognitive bias among university students, as well as to identify the significance of differences according to the type variable (males - females), as well as the correlation between the two variables, and in order to verify this, the researcher has built an unrealistic optimism scale The number of paragraphs in its final version (26) paragraphs, and adopted the scale of Cognitive bias prepared by (Ani 2015), where the number of paragraphs in its final version (14) paragraphs Their psychometric properties were confirmed and the two tools were applied to a sample of (140) students who were randomly selected from four faculties at the University of Mustansiriya for the academic year 2018-2019, The search results showed the following: .
