Sheep are an important component of livestock in particular and the agricultural sector in general, due to their role in achieving food security.

This study indicates the geographical distribution of sheep in Diyala province, and analyzed their disparity from one place to another, as well as diseases that spread among sheep in the study area And the ways to prevent them, sheep are the most important animals breeding in the study area, in order to take advantage of their meat, Milk and wools, and we try in this study to clarify the geographical distribution of sheep and reveal the factors that explain this distribution.

Through the use of the mediator law through which the distribution was classified into five categories, we have certain facts that reveal to us the link of that distribution with certain geographical factors, such as the area and reliefs of the region, the availability of water resources green dry fodder, especially what is represented in the cultivation of wheat and barley crops, as well as we note It is concentrated in large agricultural areas, as it is in the fifth category which is (Canaan, Qurtoba, Khanaqin, Baladrooz).

This study came in three axes: The first axis: the geographical distribution of sheep numbers in the study area.

The second axis: sheep diseases in the study area.

The third axis: the challenges facing sheep farming in the study area.
