The importance of the Abbasid city of Samarra is due to the fact that it was taken as the capital of the Islamic Arab state at the height of its political and economic prosperity.

Therefore, Al-Mu'tasim gave the necessary care to display it in a manner commensurate with that position, in terms of the geographical expansion required to contain the planned scope of the city, and the construction of huge architectural facilities, which were allocated to accommodate the numbers of soldiers In the Abbasid army, the so-called Qata` system appeared in it, by dividing the city into residential sectors that were distributed to the leaders of the military divisions, However, the city's life did not last long.

After less than sixty years, the city witnessed the migration of the majority of its inhabitants and left its remnants exposed to neglect and vandalism as a result of natural and human factors, and it remained a living witness to the status of the city.

So it took a large part of the studies of academics in the field of archeology however, the possibility of determining their locations has led to disagreement among researchers, which provided us with a research material through which we can come up with good results.
