D) a clear maturity as a result of the care given by the Abbasid caliphs to that knowledge aspect, so the layer of engineers in general, especially irrigation engineers, became active, so the names of some of them appeared in the world of knowledge, and they had scientific products that contributed by creating a network of irrigation systems that supplied the city with water historical sources abounded with valuable information in that field, which was reinforced by archaeological explorations within the area of ruins, which contributed to the formation of a semi-clear picture about the efforts of these scientists in advancing the science of applied engineering, so they created two systems of the first irrigation represented by surface channels, which are streams of rivers that carried many names that provided aspects A vast area from the region on both sides of the Tigris River, while the second system represented underground channels that were designed according to an elaborate engineering system that reflects the ability of Arab Muslims to harness the energies and capabilities in order to provide the basic needs of their societies.
