English Abstract

The concept of "Thresholds" includes whatever introductions, titles, footnotes, dedications, etc.

that encompass the creative text or surround it.

Researchers within the field of modern semiotic studies have paid great attention to these elements due to the paramount importance that they represent as texts that are parallel to, or accompanying, the creative text.

Subsequently, such texts do not exceed being condensed texts that reveal what has infiltrated into the folds and bends of the creative texts.

Then they debrief what is hidden and expose the mysteries.

But at the same time they are not of the type that throws off its approaches to the receiver with ease and facility, particularly in the novels under study.

Such texts adopt the style of intertextuality.

This is particularly performed with the Holy Qur'anic texts, the Prophet's Traditions, and the Supplications of Prophet's Progeny (PBUT).

Hence, they constitute a multidimensional mosaic between a preceding text and a succeeding one.

All of this would in turn lead to various semantic functions, as well as being rich with different psychological and aesthetic dimensions; adopting a style that is encircled with fascination and temptation.

It is therefore the task of research to dwell on such dimensions and to indicate them clearly.
