English Abstract

Our study 'Infliction of Punishments and their Effect on the Administrative and Financial System in the Succession of Imam Ali (PBUH)' aims at clarifying the infliction of punishments, their effect and the extent of their importance during their infliction on the violators in the state and the role they have in protecting the society.

In harmony with this study and in order to know the infliction of legal punishments and the extent of their effect on protecting society and the state institutions during the reign of Imam Ali (PBUH) and what were applied of them during his succession, this study contains three parts: the first part dealt with the linguistic and idiomatic meaning of the infliction of punishments and their importance.

While the second part dealt with the reasons of their application by Imam Ali ( PBH).

The third part talked about their effect on protecting the society and the extent of its effect on preventing theft and delinquency.

Islam came to establish a society dominated by harmony, friendliness, and love, not to terrorize people or punish them by the infliction of punishments, so the last thing that Islam wish is this punishment and it is preferable for the person to repent to Allah the Almighty in order to survive from his torture on the Day of Resurrection.

Then the research refer to an important stage that the Islamic history went through and recorded an ideal history in which the leader occupied the ideal role of taking care of the nation and cares about its affairs who didn't allow committing corruption or theft or transgressing the public money by the state officials or others.

His messages to them smelled of wisdom and brave, he was keen to discipline them and preventing them from committing the mistakes which contravene what Allah the Almighty legalized and he didn't hesitate in imposing punishment on any delinquent whatever his position or status was among his people, that is Imam Ali (PBUH)
