English Abstract

The city of Baghdad was built during the reign of Caliph Abu Jaafar al-Mansur, when the Abbasid state was at the height of its greatness, and many palaces were built by the caliphs and senior men of the state, and the city began to expand as it is the capital of the Islamic state, but that was not the case at a single pace.

Some of its buildings began to disappear, and among them were the palaces, which were described as the pinnacle of what Islamic architecture has reached, for several reasons, including political, military, economic and natural.
