English Abstract
The People's China played an important role in the events that the world witnessed after the end of the Second World War, which was called the Cold War.
Southeast Asia, starting from its military intervention in the Korean War in 1950, as well as the Taiwan Straits Crisis in 1959, to its political and logistical intervention in the Vietnamese issue.
The Vietnamese issue was the most prominent stage for the repercussions of the Cold War in the Asian region, starting with its emergence as an international crisis after 1945, and then its transformation into a major military war after the participation of the United States of America in it.
People's China had an important role in the stages of this issue, especially since it was the decisive factor in it, whether in its diplomatic or military phase.
This study attempted to answer the following questions: 1- Did Beijing succeed in supporting the Vietnamese cause at the Geneva Conference in 1954? 2- What is Beijing's interest in supporting North Vietnam? 3- Was the Chinese military support a role in resolving the Vietnam War? 4- Did the Soviet Union have an influence on China in that issue? The study was divided into an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion, as well as a list of sources The first topic studied the policy of the People's Republic of China towards the Vietnamese issue 1949-1954 and included political developments in China and Vietnam until 1949, as well as the role of the People's Republic of China in the Geneva Conference in 1954.
The second topic dealt with the position of the People's Republic of China on the Vietnamese issue 1955-4 August 1964 and the political, military and economic support provided by the People's China to the Republic of Vietnam While the third topic dealt with the position of the People's Republic of China on the Vietnamese issue August 5, 1964-1975, it included the position of the People's Republic of China on the incident in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Sino-Soviet cooperation on North Vietnam and the direct intervention of the People's Republic of China in the Vietnam War.
