The study aimed to identify the impact of the problem-solving method on the creative thinking of the sixth grade students in the subject of social studies.

The researcher chose Am-drman Al-Saleh School and Al-Shaheed Ahmed Al-Falahi School in Salah Al-Deen-Baiji Governorate.

Because the pupils represent an appropriate level in terms of age and maturity, then he chose two divisions of the sixth grade primary students randomly to apply the experiment.

Sixth grade pupils from Al-Mahdi Al-Saleh School to be the experimental group and Division (B) also in the martyr Ahmed Al-Falahi school to be the control group.

Using a problem-solving method, The control group studies the same material in the traditional way.

After determining the scientific material including the subjects of the book of social studies to be taught to sixth grade primary students, the researcher prepared a model plan for the subjects to be taught in the experiment according to the teaching method and teaching method.

The test was presented to a group of experts and specialists to find out its sincerity and suitability.

At the end of the experiment, which lasted two months, the researcher applied the post-test to obtain the students of the research group (experimental and control), and to investigate the validity of the hypothesis, the researcher concluded at the conclusion of the experiment to the following: The researcher applied a test of creative thinking, where the test was applied to the students of the research sample before the start of the experiment, the researcher applied the test dimensionally to the research sample in order to determine whether there is a development in creative thinking among the students of the research sample, by analyzing the data obtained by the researcher, Where the average of the answers of the students in the two tests were extracted and dealt with using T-Test for two independent samples and T-Test for two interrelated samples to verify the validity of the zero hypotheses.1- There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of students of the experimental group who are studying social studies and the scores of students of the control group who study the same material in the usual way in the post-test of creative thinking.2-There is a statistically significant difference between the scores of students of the experimental group in the pre - application of the test of creative thinking and their scores in the post - test of the test and this means that there is a development in the ability to think creatively among students of the experimental group.

The presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores in social studies of the experimental research group when teaching on the problem-solving method, and in the light of the result the researcher came up with a number of conclusions, including: 1- The use of problem solving is one of the effective methods in raising the level of achievement in the subject of social studies in primary school students.2- The problem-solving method has an impact on creative thinking among primary school students.
