Virtual currencies (also called virtual money, cryptocurrencies) are one of the most important aspects of technological development particularly in telecommunications, and with the onset of the new digital economy, efforts have been made to move from physical assets as a store of value to digital assets that play the same role.

The accelerated spread in the global financial markets is a reason to study and explain its economic effects, as most of the members of society in our Muslim countries are ignorant of the reality of these currencies, their advantages and risks, so this research tries to answer the previous questions, with the statement of the Provisions of Islamic Jurisprudence to deal with this type of currency and their counterparts, Therefore, the research has been divided into two parts, in the first part, the statement of the concept of virtual currencies, characteristics, and risks, and its economic effects, as discussed in the second part, the view of Islamic jurisprudence to deal with default currencies, and concluded the research of the most important findings and recommendations.
