Abstract EN

Studying the logical issues in Akhwan Al-Safaa and Khulan Al-Wafaa is a step on the way to know this scientific encyclopedia involving all philosophies and arts; if Al-Akhwan's letters are very secret and encoded in terms of symbols and numbers they are surely the most important documents ever in our Islamic heritage as they involve many currents and various thoughts.

The present paper attempts to answer the following questions: What is the status of logic in those letters? How do those letters tackle logic and its types? Are there any invention or creativity in the way those letters deal with logic or is it just an adoption of this or that logic? Why did Al-Akhwan encompass logic in their mathematical letters? Did they know about Aristotle's logic books the Greek scholars' and the Muslim scholars'? Why did they agree upon some places in their logical sections chapter divisions and typologies and disagree on others? and in their letters.

they pursued the right and truth; what was their approach to that effect? In order to arrive at their real ends out of their logic class the researcher follows an analytic approach to track the philosophical and logical texts in their letters+ examining them in the context of the available literature of logic texts and the categories therein.

Thus the research paper is divided into two sections: the first is entitled 'Akhwan Al-Safaa's concept of philosophy' while the second comes to be 'Topics and typologies of logic in Akhwan Al-Safaa's letters'.
