Abstract EN

The study aimed to uncover the role of health spending in the economic growth of the Gulf countries represented in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait during the period (1995-2014), and to achieve this goal, the longitudinal data model (panel data) was used to study the relationship between GDP and both (Total health spending, household spending, life expectancy, population) using the fixed effects model, joint complementarity and error correction model, and the results indicated a positive relationship between total health spending and economic growth in the long run and there is a positive relationship between total household sector spending on Health and economic growth in the long and short term While the results of the study showed the existence of an inverse relationship between life expectancy at birth and the GDP in the long term, while the results did not indicate a relationship between population and GDP In light of these results, the researcher presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: expanding government support for health spending, which has a clear impact on economic growth, and paying attention to health care in the Gulf states, especially in light of the countries ‟possession of financial resources.

Rehabilitation and training of medical personnel to ensure that health spending has a positive impact.

Without good medical personnel, it is useless to possess the latest technologies and equip hospitals, to benefit from the experiences of countries that have advanced in health care and to work on taking successful models from them.
