This research tackles the tropology 'or figurative language' used in Ernest Hemingway's novella 'The Old Man and the Sea' (1952) with and an emphasis upon his unique way of writing this work.

Hemingway uses a very simple language but suggestive with economy in words and phrases.

The readers find themselves before a unique poetic language written in prose style.

This very language suggests very deep humane meanings that touch the core of humanity.
