The university is the educational and social institution in which students reveal themselves, investigate themselves, perform their personalities and support them.

They will practice the scientific life, whether in their academic achievements or solving their problems, as well as raising the level of ambition and its importance in guiding and determining behavior and the motives for success Finding a formula for the relationship between problem-solving and academic ambition among university students.

The research sample consisted of the university's colleges, whose number was (200) male and female students.

The researcher prepared two tools: The first tool: - The problem-solving scale was built, and after verification of honesty, consistency and distinction, the stability was extracted by the Fakronbach method, as the stability of the scale reached (0.86) and the scale became in its final form (57) paragraphs.

The second tool: Academic Aspiration Scale After verifying the psychometric properties of the scale, validity, consistency, and distinction were verified and the reliability was extracted using Fakronbach, as the reliability coefficient reached (0.82) and the scale became in its final form (46) paragraphs.

The results of the research, using statistical means, have reached the following: University students have a medium level of ability to solve problems and it has been found that there is a statistically significant difference between males and females and in favor of females, and there is no difference between scientific and human specialization.

The results also indicate that Tikrit University students have ambition despite all the pressures and problems facing them, and possess the will to live worthily even in the most difficult circumstances, and we did not find a difference between males and females.

As for the academic ambition variable, it was not affected by the gender variable, meaning that it is the opportunity available to both sexes.
