Abstract EN

The paper probes the problems, obstacles, and risks of academic research particularly in the Arab world, not outside it; because in other countries, especially the US and Europe, there are clear visions, well-defined aims and prolific financial support.

Not only did the Arab world neglect doing or supporting research, but placed obstacles, inhibitions and looked down on its outcomes as incongruous with scientific development or that it is no more than indexing, editing or assembling of research facts, especially in humanities; if the research belongs to the scientific fields, then its results are neglected and overlooked.

These obstacles are real challenges that make research defenseless and stand in a standstill, while its results will lose their values and aims which may lead to the deterioration and devaluing of academic research.

In this research paper I used two sources of information; first, my personal knowledge and experience in writing and supervising research papers and students, and refereeing, counselling and publishing in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
