The Nizamiyya school, which was established by the Seljuk Minister Nizam al-Mulk, had a great scholarly position, as it was based on the Shafi'i school of thought, and the most senior scholars of this doctrine who became appointed official studied in it, in addition to its educational system, which was applied by other schools that were established after the Nizamiyya or those who were contemporary with it.

The Nizamiyya and the other schools that followed are a supportive front for the Abbasid caliphate in the face of the sectarian and ideological dangers it was facing.
