The European ambitions grew as a result of the agreements signed by Sultan Abdul Aziz with the colonial countries.

This led to an increase in the indignation of the Moroccan people and their opposition to the policy pursued with colonial countries.

Led to the encirclement of the Moroccan tribes around the Sultan Abdul Hafiz and demanding their takeover.
