Abstract EN

This paper lingered on the phenomena of the utilization of heritage in Habib Al-Zeyoudi’s Poetry collection “Al-Shaykh Yahlom BilMattar (The Elder Dreams of Rain)” and its manifestation in his poetic experience as well as enlightening both theoretical and practical aspects.

The paper presented the concept of heritage symbol, poem construction through linguistic structure, and movement.

The paper also examined a number of heritage symbols in Al-Zeyoudi’s poetry and his modern usage of them in which he combines the past and present to shed light on different aspects of heritage such as the religious, literary, historical, and folkloric aspects.

Al-Zeyoudi was greatly inspired by various types of heritage; the Islamic-Arabic, the international religious along with the humane historical.

He was able to use all of these in expressing his beliefs and the causes he defended in the beginning of his literary experience; revealing his deep authentic knowledge, talent and poetic genius which resulted in a major contribution to the development of the Arabic Jordanian poetic movement in modern times.
