Abstract EN

This study aimed to know the level of mathematical power among the students of Basic Mathematics Faculty of Education – Taiz University.

The study sample consisted of (154) students from the four levels in the Department of Basic Mathematics during the second semester of the academic year 2018-2019.

To achieve the aims of the study and answer its questions، the researchers prepared a test of mathematical power and included the operations dimension (mathematical communication -Connected Mathematics- mathematical reasoning), consisting of (25) question.

The data were statistically by using the statistical program (SPSS).

The study comes out with the following most prominent finding: the total average of the students 'performance on the testing of mathematical power was less than the supposed average of the total degree and there are statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) in the level of mathematical power among students of the Basic Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Education - Taiz University, related to the of the academic level variable (I -II - III - IV) in favor of the fourth level.

Based on these results, the researchers concluded a number of recommendations.
