Abstract EN

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among social support and the strategies that deal with psychological stress and existential anxiety.

The study aims to discuss the level of social support and the common psychological stressors of the wives of prisoners in Tulkarm.

To achieve an objective result, the study adopts a number of demographic variables.

The study society consisted of all wives of prisoner in Tulkarm governorate, Participants were (63) wives of prisoners.

Data were collected using the social support scales, stress management strategies, and existential anxiety were distributed, and all measures were calculated and maintained.

There was a high level of social support among the wives of prisoners in addition to this study, result also showed the prevalence of problem-centered strategies and the strategies centered on the emotion of the wives of prisoners Compared to non-consensual strategies.

Moreover, the level of existential concern for the areas of death, destiny, loneliness, isolation, meaninglessness and emptiness was moderately appreciated and the decreased in the field of guilt and conviction.

The results also showed that there is a significant direct correlation between social support and dealing with psychological stresses centered on the problem.

In addition to this, there was a positively associated between social support and stress-centered emotion.

However, there was a negatively associated between social support and dealing with non-harmonic pressures strategy, it also indicates a statistically significant associated between non-harmonic strategy and existential anxiety in general
